Privacy policy

Which personal data we handle, why, and what your rights are.

Last updated on 11 October 2026

1. Who is responsible

Helios is a product of Networkguys, Smitspol 7-a7, 3861 RS Nijkerk, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce (KVK) 92258727, VAT NL865960859B01. Networkguys is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Everything about the company is on networkguys.nl.

For questions about privacy, or to use your rights, write to info@networkguys.nl.

This policy is about the data we handle for our own purposes: this website, your account and your payments. The data you put in your own Helios instance is handled on your behalf. For that data you are responsible and we are your processor, under the data processing agreement on this site.

2. In short

  • Helios is hosted in the Netherlands, within the European Union.
  • We never sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
  • This website has no tracking and no advertising cookies.
  • We collect only what we need to provide Helios and to send you an invoice.

3. What we collect

When you sign up: the name of your company, your email address, the address you choose for your instance and your password.

When you take a paid plan: your invoice address, your VAT number where that applies, which plan you chose and whether a payment succeeded. The payment itself is handled by our payment provider. We do not see or store your full bank or card details.

When you send us a message: your name, your email address and what you write.

When you use this website: your IP address, to limit abuse of the forms, and the language you chose.

When you use Helios: the technical logs needed to keep the service running and safe, such as when somebody signed in.

4. Why we use it, and on what ground

  • To create your instance and to provide Helios to you: needed for the agreement with you.
  • To take payments and to send invoices: needed for the agreement, and to meet our legal duties for bookkeeping and tax.
  • To answer your messages and to give support: our legitimate interest in helping you, or the agreement with you.
  • To keep the website and Helios safe and to prevent abuse: our legitimate interest in a secure service.
  • To tell you about changes that matter, such as to prices or terms: needed for the agreement.

We do not send marketing email through Helios. We do not take decisions about you by automated means alone.

5. Who gets to see it

We use a small number of suppliers who process data for us, each under a contract that protects it:

  • a hosting provider in the Netherlands, where Helios and its databases run;
  • a payment provider, for payments and direct debits;
  • an invoicing service, for invoices;
  • an email service, for the messages Helios and we send.

If you choose to receive alerts through WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack or Discord, the content of those alerts goes through that service, on your instruction. Some of those services are outside the European Union and handle data under their own terms.

We only hand data to the authorities if the law requires it. We never sell personal data.

6. Where it is kept

Helios and its databases are hosted in the Netherlands. Each customer has an instance and a database of their own.

If a supplier handles data outside the European Economic Area, we make sure there is a legal basis for that, such as the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.

7. How long we keep it

  • Account and instance data: for as long as you have an account. After it ends we delete it within 90 days.
  • Invoices and payment records: seven years, as tax law requires.
  • Messages you send us: for as long as needed to answer them, and at most one year after that.
  • Technical logs: for a short time, as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.

8. How we protect it

Every customer has an instance and a database of their own. Connections are encrypted. Keys and tokens that you store in Helios, such as for a connector or an alert channel, are stored encrypted. Access to our systems is limited to the people who need it.

No system is perfectly secure. If something goes wrong with your personal data and that is likely to be a risk to you, we tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

9. Your rights

You may ask us to see, correct or delete your personal data, to limit its use, to hand it to you in a common format, and you may object to its use. Write to info@networkguys.nl. We answer within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

10. Cookies

This website only uses cookies that are needed for it to work. There are no tracking cookies. The details are in our cookie statement.

11. Changes

We may change this policy, for example when Helios changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. We tell you about changes that matter.
